The past few years have been remarkable for their degree of economic uncertainty. Not only has there been a recession on a scale not seen for nearly a century, but very large trade imbalances and asset imbalances have built up – followed by a sovereign debt crisis in Europe and potentially in the other OECD economies. Despite a great deal of recent work on these topics, it is clear that we are far from understanding the causes and potential resolution of these difficulties. The aim of this meeting is to take a deeper look at some of the mechanisms that lie behind these extreme imbalances and the policies that might be used to make the financing of our economies more robust and sustainable.

Caregivers include parents for whom parenting may never end, spouses caring for loved ones because of a disabling condition, and adults who are caring for their parents, while actively working and parenting their own children.

The Nation’s Health: Action through Public Policy

June 2 – 7, 2013

The Institute explores all facets of the health policy-making process and provides participants with the knowledge needed to make a difference in the U.S. health care system. By examining current national and state challenges and engaging in discussions with policy makers on Capitol Hill, participants will learn how to address a wide range of health policy problems. Faculty include speakers from federal and state health agencies and legislatures, media experts, and prominent national leaders in health policy, nursing, and quality of care issues.
