Student Research Spotlight

On November 3, Mason and Arlington community members gathered at Fuse at Mason Square to celebrate the building's "topping out," the step of construction when the structural frame of the building is complete. During the event, a student research exhibition highlighted the benefits of research spaces like those that will be available at Fuse. Take a look at what they’re working on.

Using satellites to better predict storm surges

Soelem Aafnan Bhuiyan, PhD student in civil engineering, is working with professor Viviana Maggioni to improve coastal water level predictions with satellite observations in the hopes of better predicting storm surges amidst rising sea levels.
